What better way to celebrate Ice Tea Day than with a Red Rooibos Latte! Rooibos is not only healthy, providing much needed antioxidants, but it’s also surprisingly tasty. Especially if you add a little bit of sugar, spice and everything nice, or in other words a little bit of honey, cinnamon and a hint of vanilla!
Notice I say “surprisingly,” we tend to think tea falls into the same category as the Queen of England, vanilla ice cream, pale winter skin, tofurky, tofu, lettuce, topics about the weather etc etc. I’m sure you get the picture. However, Rooibos tea deserves more credit.
So without further adieu, try the recipe yourself.
I bet you’ll be pleasantly surprised!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup strong brewed Rooibos tea
- 1/2 cup almond milk/cows milk
- 1/2 tsp honey, or alternative sweetener
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
- dash of cinnamon
Instructions:
Brew a strong half cup of tea, either with freshly boiled water or through an espresso machine. Heat and foam the almond milk/cows milk using a milk frother . Almond milk gets a pretty generous foam – better than rice milk from what I’ve tried. Don’t even go there with soy. Stir the honey and vanilla into the tea, pour the hot milk over, and top with the foam. A dash of cinnamon adds the finishing touch.
